Droodle App Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3rd October 2025
Droodle is a creative drawing app designed specifically for children. We are committed to protecting your child's privacy and complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other global privacy laws. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in our app.
Information & Data Collection
What We DON'T Collect
We designed Droodle to be safe for children. That means we do not collect any personal information such as names, emails, addresses, photos, location, audio, or device details. We also do not use tracking, individual user analytics, or ads.
No personal information: We don't collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses
No photos or videos: We don't access your device's camera or photo library
No location data: We don't track where you are
No microphone access: We don't record audio
No social features: Children cannot communicate with other users
No individual user analytics or tracking: We don't track how you use the app or collect usage statistics
No device information: We don't collect information about your device beyond what's required for basic app functionality
No crash reports: We don't collect crash or error data
No progress tracking: Worlds progress, levels completed, and achievements stay on your device only
What We DO Collect
Anonymous User ID: We create a unique, anonymous identifier for each device to manage app functionality and provide support if needed
Subscription Data: Anonymous purchase information to manage app subscriptions and generation credits (handled securely through RevenueCat)
Generation Credits: We track how many AI generations (Magic Creations) you have remaining to manage subscription limits
Server Metrics (Aggregate Only): We record anonymous, aggregate counts of total daily AI generations (Magic Creations). This helps us maintain app performance and plan infrastructure capacity. These counts are never linked to any individual user or device and may be retained long-term for business reporting and service planning but are deleted if no longer needed.
That's it! We collect the absolute minimum data necessary for the app to function.
Language & Localization
Droodle supports multiple languages to make the app accessible to children and families worldwide. The app automatically matches the iPad’s system language that has been set by the parent or guardian.
We do not collect or use your child’s physical location to determine language.
Language settings are based only on the device’s existing configuration.
Parents can change the language by updating the iPad’s system settings, or (if available) within Droodle’s parent-controlled settings area.
This ensures that children cannot accidentally change the app’s language and that Droodle never uses geolocation or personal data for localization.
How We Handle Your Child's Drawings
AI Image Generation
When your child uses our Apply Magic or Redo Magic feature to generate a Magic Creation:
Temporary Processing: Your child's drawing is sent to our secure AI service to create magical artwork
Immediate Deletion: The drawing is automatically deleted from our third-party processing service immediately after processing
No Storage: We do not store your child's drawings on external servers
Local Storage Only: Generated artwork is saved only on your device
All AI generations use only preset, pre-written prompts designed to produce child-appropriate results. Children cannot type or submit their own text.
Saving To Gallery
Your Child can opt to "Add To Gallery" which saves the original drawing and generated image to their local storage gallery within the Droodle App
We do not have access to these images
Images saved to your gallery are never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties
Gallery data never leaves your device
Third-Party Services
AI Processing Service
We use a secure AI service to transform drawings into magical artwork. This service:
Receives drawings only temporarily for processing
Automatically deletes all data immediately after generation
Does not store or retain any children's artwork
Does not use children's artwork or generation data to train models
Operates under strict data protection agreements
In line with the June 2025 COPPA amendments, Droodle does not use children’s drawings or data for training or improving AI models, even in anonymized form.
Our AI Processing Service Provider has confirmed in writing that it does not store, use, or share children’s data for training or any secondary purpose.
Firebase (Google)
We use Firebase for:
Anonymous Authentication, which creates a temporary, anonymous identifier that cannot be linked to any real person or device across app reinstalls.
Basic app functionality
Analytics, Ads, and Crash Reporting are fully disabled
RevenueCat & Apple App Store
We use RevenueCat and Apple's App Store for subscription management:
RevenueCat
Uses anonymous identifiers only
May provide Droodle with non-identifiable information such as the country associated with your App Store purchase. This is country-level only (for example, Australia, United Kingdom, or Singapore) and does not include precise location, city, or GPS data.
No personal information is shared
Configured for COPPA compliance with anonymous user IDs
Only tracks subscription status and generation credits
Acts as a secure bridge between our app and Apple's payment system
Apple App Store
Handles all payments, billing, renewals, and cancellations.
Droodle never receives your payment information (credit card, billing address, Apple ID email).
Apple may collect payment data under their own privacy policy.
We recommend parents review Apple’s privacy policy for details.
Apple App Store Metrics
Apple may provide Droodle with anonymous, aggregated reports such as total number of downloads, paying subscribers, or subscription cancellations.
These reports do not contain personal information, and Droodle cannot identify any individual child from them.
Apple collects and manages this data under their own privacy policy.
Age Verification
Our app includes parental/grownup controls:
Settings and purchase areas require adult verification
Parents must solve simple number sequences to access these areas
This prevents children from accidentally making purchases or changing settings

Data Security
We protect information through:
Secure, encrypted connections for all data transmission
Anonymous identifiers instead of personal information
Automatic deletion of any temporarily processed data
Local storage of all creative content on your device
Minimal data collection principles
Droodle does not engage in interest-based advertising, remarketing, or any form of behavioral profiling.
Your Rights as a Parent / Guardian / Carer of a Child using Droodle
You have the right to:
Review: Contact us to understand what minimal data we have (anonymous user ID and subscription status)
Delete: Request deletion of any data associated with your child's anonymous user ID
Cancel Anytime: Simply delete the app to remove all data and stop any data collection
Contact Us: Ask questions about our privacy practices at any time via email to support@droodle.com
Parents can contact us at any time to review, delete, or stop further use of their child’s information, as required under COPPA.
We will never require a child to provide more information than is reasonably necessary to use Droodle.
Data Retention
Anonymous User ID: Retained only while the app is installed and in use
Subscription Data: Retained only for active subscription management
Generation Credits: Reset at the start of a new subscription period
Drawings: Never stored on our servers or third-party processing servers; remain only on your device
App Data: Automatically deleted when the app is uninstalled
Aggregate Counts of Total Daily Generations: These counts are used only for internal operations such as maintaining functionality, scaling infrastructure, and understanding overall service growth. They may be retained for long-term service planning and growth tracking, contain no personal information, cannot identify individual users and are deleted if no longer needed.
International Users
Droodle is proudly built 100% by in-house Australian developers and complies with privacy laws worldwide, including:
As an Australian-developed app, we follow Australia's strict privacy standards and are committed to protecting children's privacy globally.
No Data Sharing
We do not:
Sell information
Share data with advertisers (Droodle is ad-free)
Provide data to marketers
Allow third-party tracking
Share usage data with third parties
The only limited sharing occurs during the AI generation process:
When your child completes a drawing, it is temporarily sent to our secure AI processing service for the sole purpose of generating the requested Magic Creation.
This drawing is never stored, used for training, or shared for any other purpose.
It is automatically and permanently deleted from the third party’s servers immediately after the generation is complete.
Generated artwork is then stored only on your device, never on our servers.
This limited sharing is considered “support for internal operations” under COPPA and is required for the app to function.

COPPA Compliance Statement
Droodle is fully COPPA-compliant. We:
Do not collect personal information from children.
Use only anonymous identifiers.
Automatically delete temporary data.
Provide parental gates for purchases and settings.
Disable analytics, advertising, and tracking.
Store creative content only on the device.
Configure all third-party providers to operate in a COPPA-compliant way.
Children cannot type their own prompts or text. All generations use fixed, pre-written prompts, eliminating the risk of children disclosing personal information and ensuring outputs remain age-appropriate.
Tracking of aggregate counts of total daily generations is performed solely for internal operations, as permitted under COPPA. These metrics are never linked to individual children and are never used for behavioral tracking, profiling, or advertising.
Droodle is designed for children ages 4–10. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 in violation of COPPA.
